About Trust

Amar Shanth Charitable Trust was established in the year 2004 with the intention of serving the people in the society.  The Trust first accomplished its work through its two divisions namely Tejasvini Hospital, and SSIOT. The Trust then decided to start the Nursing Institute and the permission was granted by the Government of Karnataka in the year 2005.

Dr.M.Shantharam Shetty

Tejasvini Hospital and Shantharam Shetty Institute of Orthopaedics and Traumatology (SSIOT) is started by Prof. (Dr.) .M.Shantharam Shetty, with an aim to provide specialized state of the art Orthopaedic care to all patients irrespective of their economic status.  Dr. Shantharam Shetty has a teaching experience of more than 35 years and he has been Professor and Head of the Orthopaedics Department and Director of Post Graduate Studies at Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore from 1980to 1998.  Presently he is the Vice Chancellor of K.S.Hegde Medical Academy.  He is an Orthopaedic Surgeon of international repute, a teacher par excellence and an able administrator. He served as President, All India Orthopaedic Association during 2008-2009.
 

He is visiting Professor at Universities in U.S.A., U.K., Germany and in India.

Dr. M.Shantharam Shetty is a post graduate examiner to various Indian Universities and the National Board of Examinations.  He is also an inspector of the National Board and MCI.  He was the President of Canara Orthopaedic Association of South Indian States in 2003.

Dr. M.Ajith Kumar

After extensive training in U.K. and Ireland for more than 7 years, he has established practice in Mangalore.  He is a Senior Consultant Orhtopaedic Surgeon of Tejasvini Hospital and SSIOT.  He is a specialist in joint replacement surgery, arthroscopic surgery and paediatric orthopaedics.

Dr. Ajith Kumar is one of the trustees of Amar Shanth Charitable Trust.
